D&S Produce

D&S Produce was started in 2006 by Dawn and Scott Hintz. The original stand was located in the West Shore Farmer’s Market in Lemoyne, PA. The farm was owned by Dawn’s parents until 2010 when Dawn & Scott took over. Fruits, vegetables, and grains have been grown on the farm for decades. Pigs were raised until the early 2000’s as well. Upon taking over the farm changes were made including an increase in the amount of produce grown, labor needs, where products are sold. In 2016 a CSA program was added. In 2020 the current on-farm market was built and the West Shore stand was sold. In 2021 the ice cream stand was opened. Today the farm is a welcoming location for all to come and enjoy fresh produce, flowers, ice cream, annual events, or just the tranquility that the farm has to offer.

Scott

Originally from Long Island, NY Scott moved to the area after graduating Delaware Valley College in 2003. With a passion for agriculture he knew he wanted to farm since his early teens. Upon graduation he worked in orchards and a large dairy farm, gaining valuable real world experience, until 2010 when D&S Produce became his sole occupation.

DAWN

Dawn is a York Springs native. She was raised with her three siblings on the farm in the house that still stands there today. After graduating form Delaware Valley College in 2002 she started her current job at the Susquehanna River Basin Commission where she has been doing water testing and data analysis for 20 years. She continues to help daily to run D&S Produce through book work, working at the market & ice cream stand, and helping in the packing house or fields.

Dawn and Scott live just a mile away from the farm with their two children Ryan and Aspen. They can be seen almost daily working on the farm or in the market.
